My interest in sculpture began at a young age after being enthralled with the works of Augustus Rodin at the L.A. Art Museum I began a quest to learn about this Fine Art expression through college classes and workshops with nationally known artists.
In 1981 Mother Teresa gave me approval to exhibit a clay portrait of her. My life size bronze busts of Mother Teresa are on permanent exhibit at Thomas Aquinas College,Santa Paula; San Lorenzo Seminary, Santa Ynez Valley; and The Cathedral of Hope, in Dallas, Texas. To my knowledge this is the only authorized portrait of Mother Teresa.
I have created many commissioned sculptures of adults and children. My other subjects are animal portraits, statuettes, reliefs, medallions and recognition awards.
I was apprenticed for four years under Melba Lloyd, a professional sculptor. Ms Lloyd received her training at the Royal Academy School in London I also completed several Master Sculptor Workshops at Brookgreen Gardens in S.C. Instructors: Bruno Lucchesi, Louise Peterson,Eugene Daub, Sandy Scott and Gwen Marcus. I also trained with Philippe Faraut, at the Ringling College of Art.
First place winner, Villages Fine Arts Festival, Appleton Museum: Best in Sculpture.
